Teaching

Adjunct Instructor

Over the past five years I have had the honor of being an Adjuct Instructor for the Computer Science Department at East Tennessee State University. During my tenure, I have been able to teach CSCI 1710 at both the main campus in Johnson City as well as the ETSU Campus in Kingsport. CSCI 1710 is Intro to Web Design and Development in which we talk about basic XHTML web development as well as the development model for web based projects. Students learn through a combination of lab and lecture activities. Students are also required to complete a 5-7 week group project.

In addition, I had the honor of teaching CSCI 1800 for one semester instead of CSCI 1710. CSCI 1800 is Visual Programming using Visual Basic. We discussed basic principles of Visual Basic development as well as Object Oriented Programming. This class ussed a combination of lab and lecture.

Priority 3 Consultant

Starting in Spring 2011, I will have the honor of being a consultant for the Priority 3 Grant for the Southeastern Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel. In particular, my focus will be helping participants understand the importance of Educational Technology within their TRiO Programs. I will be a part of a 2 person team who will rotate between the four sites delivering this information.
